If you’re new around here, International Telecoms Week (ITW) is a pretty big deal! In fact, ITW 2025 attracted over 6,000 attendees from around the world to National Harbor, Maryland, for another year of impactful discussions, exhibits and networking opportunities. And, of course, JSA’s highly anticipated annual Greener Data Exchange, a convergence of sustainability-minded leaders and visionaries. From panels exploring telecom’s most pressing challenges to an exhibition floor filled with the world’s most innovative products and services, ITW 2025 did not disappoint!
Here’s a look at JSA’s top 5 highlights from ITW 2025!
- The ITW 2025 Welcome Reception and Networking Events Galore
To kick off the festivities, ITW hosted its annual opening party, and this year’s was better than ever. Attendees headed to the reception after a long travel day to enjoy cocktails with a breathtaking view of the Potomac River. What’s more, this event brought attendees together to share agendas for the days ahead and discuss how the industry continues to evolve. Always a must, the ITW 2025 Welcome Reception was the best date and included live music and so much more!
The Irish Whisper, a lively pub in the heart of National Harbor, welcomed ValorC3 Data Centers back for another networking event to be remembered. From Irish fare to an open bar, including Valor’s signature Boise Breeze cocktail to celebrate the company’s 10MW Boise expansion announcement, Valor’s Pub Social was the perfect vibe!
The Pacific Telecom Council (PTC) and its members headed over to Rosa Mexicana for an exclusive luncheon and networking event to chat more about advancing digital infrastructure, PTC DC and the annual PTC conference. And the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) convened at McCormick and Schmick’s for networking and conversations about the latest in communications fraud, all with a stunning view of National Harbor, sponsored by netnumber.
Other notable networking events included Flexential’s annual opening party at the Flight Deck and LARUS’ Party on a Boat that sailed the Potomac for an evening under the stars.

- Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) Charity Run
The TSF run is a staple at ITW. This year, the run attracted hundreds of philanthropic conferencegoers to square off for a meaningful cause. Sponsored by Console Connect, this 5-K run graced the streets of National Harbor at sunrise to raise funds for TSF’s mission while participating in a wonderful ITW tradition!
As a long-time supporter and TSF ambassador, JSA’s COO, Barb Mitchell, was on hand for the annual TSF run check presentation. This year, $10,000 was donated, which is the most to date! In addition to the run, Equinix, the World’s Digital Infrastructure CompanyⓇ, joined JSA to donate $2,000 to TSF in lieu of ITW giveaway items!
More on TSF:
Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) was founded in 1998 as the world’s first NGO focusing on emergency-response technologies. During humanitarian crises, they give affected people the possibility to contact their loved ones and begin to regain control of their lives, as well as build rapid-response communications centers for local and international responders. A highlight at every leading telecom, data center and digital infrastructure industry conference, JSA TV welcomed over 40 executives from around the world to share their breaking news and stories during the biggest ITW to date. New this year, JSA broadcasted a daily ITW Fast Forward edition to recap the hottest headlines from the conference floor and globally to keep the industry updated on the latest news! - Women at the Forefront of ITW 2025
From WTF to WiT to breakfast receptions and more, the ITW 2025 agenda was filled with impactful programming geared toward bridging our industry’s gender gap and advancing women’s leadership, and JSA was proud to partake in them all. Our very own Laurel Burton, EVP of Strategy and New Business, graced the WiT stage to moderate a Fireside Chat: The New World Order Between Technology and Democracy. Laurel was joined by Danielle Adrianna Davis, the Director of Technology Policy at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, and Matthew Steinberg, a Tech and Public Policy Scholar at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. Ultimately, it was an engaging conversation focused on the world’s opportunities and cautions surrounding the use of artificial intelligence and social media.
“It was an honor to represent JSA and moderate such a critical conversation about how technologies such as AI and social media can impact cultures and shape public policy. Thank you to the WiT team for spearheading the topic and empowering women in our field.” – Laurel Burton, EVP of Strategy and New Business, JSA.

To celebrate diversity (and Cinco de Mayo), WTF (Women’s Technology Forum) brought women and their male allies together at Rosa Mexicano to sip margaritas and enjoy authentic Mexican fare while being motivated by some of the telecom industry’s most respected women, including Amber Caramella, CRO of Netrality Data Centers, Geraldine Kor, CCO of Xenith IG, and Jules Johnston, SVP of Channels & Alliances of Digital Realty, during a truly inspirational session. WTF events are always not to be missed, and we can’t wait to attend the next one during Datacloud Global in Cannes!

- The Greener Data Exchange: A Must-Attend Networking Experience
Saving the best for last, JSA’s fourth annual Greener Data Exchange was simply spectacular!! Green was in the air as over 200 ITW 2025 attendees flocked to the Riverview Ballroom and terrace to mix and mingle with Greener Data authors, partners and supporters while indulging in signature Greener Martinis, sparkling bubbles and eclectic beats. What’s more, guests received commemorative Greener Data pins and signed copies of Amazon Bestseller Greener Data – Volume Two by attending authors, including Dean Nelson, Cara Mascini, Chad Lamb and Bill Severn, just to name a few.
As the sun set on another Greener Data Exchange, guests gathered on the Riverview Ballroom terrace to join Barb Mitchell and fellow JSAers in a captivating toast to celebrate JSA’s milestone 20th Anniversary and the highly anticipated announcement of Greener Data – Volume Three authors. In addition, guests raised a glass to the launch of the Greener Data – Volume Three book cover contest in partnership with the Nomad Futurist Foundation. This contest is inviting student artists and designers to create the official front cover for Greener Data – Volume Three, the next installment in the acclaimed book series that explores how tech leaders are driving sustainability and climate action across the digital infrastructure industry.
The winning design will be featured as the official front cover of the published book and announced live by the Greener Data and Nomad Futurist teams on September 8, 2025, at the YOTTA 2025 Conference in Las Vegas — digital infrastructure’s global gathering of enterprise IT, data center and OEM execs. Plus, the winning artist will be featured with a dedicated bio page inside the book — a powerful addition to your résumé and portfolio! To find out more or to enter, click here.
