1623 Meet in the Middle

1623 Farnam Wows Again with 2023 Meet in the Middle Event

1623 Farnam, a leading interconnected edge data center and IX provider, takes a lot of pride in hailing from the heartland. Not only is Omaha a great city, but it’s a great place to build a high-value connectivity ecosystem for partners and peers — and that’s exactly what 1623 Farnam has done. So, to celebrate the growth and success of its ecosystem every year, the team at 1623 brings together friends, customers and partners at its annual Meet in the Middle event. Last year, this meeting of minds delivered a host of fun activities and opportunities for collaborative discussion. This year, the event wowed with even more excitement, networking and thought sharing.

At Meet in the Middle 2023, attendees took to the fairways for some friendly golf competition and had a wild time at Omaha’s award-winning zoo for a scavenger hunt — but beyond that, there was lots of innovation and inspiration to go around. In fact, at the event, 1623 Farnam welcomed Meta’s Data Center Campus Facility Manager, Tim Bussey; Google’s Regional Public Affairs Manager, Matt Sexton; and Greater Omaha Chamber’s VP of Economic Development, Mark Norman for a star-studded panel led by the organization’s own VP of Business Development, Greg Elliott. In this session, the hyperscalers expanded on why Omaha is a great place for IT and connectivity investment (which 1623 Farnam sheds more light on here), what the industry needs to know about recruiting data centers in the region, what to expect from new trends and  a whole lot more. Of course, Meet in the Middle packed a punch with a full roster of fun, drinks and festivities too.

Perhaps some of the most important takeaways from this year’s Meet in the Middle event were the statistics and information 1623 Farnam shared with its attendees about the significant growth their on-site IX, Omaha IX, has been experiencing (a four-fold increase in daily peering traffic, no less). Not to mention, broadband provider and network provider expansions within 1623’s infrastructure is up, which shows that the ecosystem in Omaha is only getting stronger and more valuable for peers and partners. Exciting regional initiatives like those from the Nebraska Tech Collaborative also took center stage, showcasing the bright future for this tech hub.

All in all, this event continues to demonstrate why 1623 Farnam is so proud of its connectivity and colocation ecosystem — and 1623 Farnam’s ability to make its customers and partners feel welcome and appreciated at Meet in the Middle show us all exactly why this data center partner is one to watch.
