Spencer Building Carrier Hotel is already making waves as it announces the approval of a first-of-its-kind permit to build private entries (manholes) into its facility. The brand-new data center, currently in the design phase of buildout, announced the news this week while attending ITW 2022 in Maryland.
The permits, which are typically reserved for utility providers, allow Spencer Building Carrier Hotel to build two private entries into the facility that will also plug into traditional entry points throughout the city, providing customers secure access to the robust system.
“This project is a huge win for us here at Spencer Building Carrier Hotel and our future customers,” says Director of Data Center Infrastructure and Operations, Chris Jones. “Our goal has always been to maintain our status of being the primary communications hub in Vancouver for Western Canada and these private entries allow us to be just that.”
The private entries will also bring scalability and ease of growth for customers, with the ability to increase capacity over the next 20+ years.
