Sociologist, author, daughter of a Marine a perfect fit with Salute’s core mission
Salute Mission Critical, a global data center services company, is proud to announce that digital sociologist and author, Dr. Julie Albright, has formally joined the company’s Ambassador program. Salute launched the initiative earlier in 2020 to help spread awareness of the tangible benefits its veterans bring to the data center providers with which the company works. With many years of experience in the tech industry, Dr. Albright is a perfect fit to help Salute create a sustainable funnel for future veterans to find long-term employment, thus solving the data center sector’s chronic staffing gap.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Albright join our team,” says Lee Kirby, Chairman and Co-Founder at Salute Mission Critical. “Her insight and world-renowned standing in the digital community is a great addition to our cause. We share the same passion for veterans and, together, we are eager to drive even greater results for veterans, their families and the data center clients we serve.”
She moderated the company’s inaugural Executive Roundtable on May 20. You can watch the replay here.
“As the daughter of a Marine Corps Officer, and the granddaughter of Navy men on both sides – I am proud to represent Salute Mission Critical as an Ambassador to the data center industry and beyond,” notes Dr. Julie Albright, Digital Sociologist and Author. “The data center industry clearly faces a talent shortage. The experience and discipline that our proud military servicemen and women bring to the table is a wonderful resource to address this shortfall. I look forward to working with Mr. Lee Kirby and his team.”
Closing the Data Center Skills Gap
According to a recent Uptime Institute survey, over half of the respondents reported they were having difficulty finding candidates to fill open jobs or were having trouble retaining data center staff. Simultaneously, veterans often struggle with knowing where to go after they leave active duty. Some end up unemployed and even homeless. Salute provides a win-win scenario for growth-oriented data center operators by solving the industry’s talent gap through the recruitment, training and deployment of veterans turned data center specialists.
Salute touts partnerships with renowned global datacenter operators, including EdgeConneX, ServerFarm, Element Critical and many more. With 350 full-time staff operating data centers for the most innovative and fastest-growing companies globally, Salute continues to prove its unique engagement model.
