Expanded partnership supports data center uptime, job creation & business continuity for enterprises in Toronto
In normal times, data center uptime is vital for service providers and end-users to collaborate and innovate by leveraging a myriad of often cloud-native applications and services. While the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted just how mission-critical the data center sector is, it has also presented unique challenges. Datacenter Knowledge reports that the recent global surge in internet traffic has required providers to add network bandwidth and computing power into their facilities – all while often reducing onsite staff.
Now, in Toronto, Canada, Salute Mission Critical, a global data center services company, is helping ServerFarm, an innovative data center developer and operator, overcome such challenges, both now and into the future. The two companies are expanding their previous relationship. Salute will now provide 7X24 facilities engineering services for ServerFarm’s Toronto data center. Simultaneously, Salute is also working to integrate ServerFarm’s innovative InCommand data center management system within its own Global Command Center. When complete, this will enhance Salute’s ability to coordinate the administration of its global data center lifecycle offerings for client-owned facilities. These range from remote micro-edge sites to massive hyper-scale data centers.
Boosting Network Bandwidth With Military Precision
Operating mission-critical environments always requires exceptionally skilled and agile data center technicians. With its Global Command Center, Salute technicians have new capabilities both for remote hands management and rapid onsite deployments for facilities and IT engineering. Through its partnerships, Salute provides its data center customers with the capabilities to maintain uptime through any situation.
“Partnering with Salute helps us to excel at our ongoing mission to be a leading, agile data center provider for our customers. Salute’s team consistently demonstrates excellence in all that they do for us. We especially appreciate the high level of transparency and discipline they provide to us as they operate within our environment. Our team has found their skills to be so vital that, in some cases, we have transitioned Salute technicians into full-time employment with ServerFarm. We’re eager to replicate our joint successes at our Toronto facility and deliver vital uptime and efficiencies for our customers in that market.” – Avner Papouchado, CEO of ServerFarm.
In addition to supporting data center uptime and business continuity, Salute also operates with a unique humanitarian purpose. The company works to transition military veterans, some of whom have dealt with stigma and chronic unemployment, into successful careers in the data center industry. For data center providers interested in capitalizing on a successful, replicable way of solving for the sector’s ongoing shortage of skilled talent, Salute is hosting a free roundtable discussion on May 20 at 1 pm ET, titled “Mission Possible: Getting Veterans into Your Data Centers”.
