Prime Data Centers Forms Strategic Partnership and Equity Investment with Macquarie Capital

Exciting news out of the Golden State! Prime Data Centers, the leader in Partnership as a Service (PaaS), announces another new advancement for the company. The latest news announces that Prime has entered into a strategic partnership and equity investment with Macquarie Capital, a pioneer and global market leader in the infrastructure sector for over three decades.

The partnership has targeted capital investments of over $5 billion over the next 10 years. It aims to enable significant long-term advantages for data center users within the nexus of sustainable power, connectivity and data centers. Macquarie Capital, the advisory, capital markets and principal investment arm of Macquarie Group, will also lend its infrastructure investment and development franchise, along with its growing expertise in the digital ecosystem to Prime’s prowess in delivering and servicing data center infrastructure solutions to enterprise and hyperscale companies.

The CEO and Founder of Prime, Nicholas Laag, said of the Macquarie Capital partnership:

“Macquarie Capital is an excellent fit for us, not only because of the strategic nature that is truly unique and a potential paradigm shift in solving for the delivery of sustainable mission-critical infrastructure on-demand at whatever capacity but also because of their long-term investment horizon to really scale and leverage our mutual assets and people. We are planning for 10 and 20 years and not only one, three or five years, which we believe will align well with customers.”

Macquarie Capital currently has over $25 billion of infrastructure projects under construction or development and is an industry leader across transportation, social, communications, renewable energy and conventional energy infrastructure.

Prime, a California-based wholesale data center developer and operator, recently signed build-to-suit leases with an initial aggregate capacity of 20MW in Santa Clara and Sacramento, California, with future projects slated across key markets in the United States and Europe.
