PowerHouse Data Centers Strengthens Leadership Team In Response to Recent Growth

PowerHouse Data Centers, a division of American Real Estate Partners (AREP) and a prominent real estate partner for next-generation hyperscale data centers, has announced three significant additions to its leadership team, as well as two notable promotions. These roster moves underscore the company’s rapid recent growth, with the new team members set to play crucial roles in asset management, utilities management, and data center development for projects in Virginia, Texas, and Nevada.

Matthew Monaco joins as Senior Vice President of Asset Management and Development. With over 20 years of experience in management consulting, telecom, and digital infrastructure, Monaco brings a wealth of expertise from his previous role at Equinix, where he managed a portfolio worth over $8 billion and 600 MW of data center capacity. In his new role, Monaco will spearhead new data center business development, including site procurement, company acquisitions, and data center operator partnerships.

Pete McGrath has been appointed Vice President of Data Center Development and Construction. McGrath, a licensed engineer and LEED accredited professional, has 28 years of experience directing major construction projects, including over $4 billion and 1000 MW of data center capacity. At PowerHouse, McGrath will manage the development of the PowerHouse 95 project, a 145-acre hyperscale campus expected to feature up to eight three-story data center facilities by Q4 2027.

William McCausland, the new Director of Data Center Utilities, brings 14 years of experience from Dominion Energy. At Dominion, he led the data center services initiative and managed electric infrastructure design and business development. At PowerHouse, McCausland will focus on developing domestic and reclaimed water, fiber, and other local utilities and energy suppliers nationwide.

In addition to these new members of the executive team, two other leaders have assumed new roles and responsibilities in the company. Luke Kipfer has been promoted to PowerHouse’s Managing Director of Development and Construction, formerly serving as Executive Vice President of Development and Construction. Meanwhile, Patrick Pline has been named Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development, previously serving as Senior Vice President of  Development and Construction. Both are longstanding members of the PowerHouse management group who played important roles in recent projects such as PowerHouse ABX-1 in Virginia.

These new appointments and promotions come at a pivotal time for PowerHouse, which has recently announced its sixth hyperscale development currently in progress. As PowerHouse continues its expansion, these strategic modifications to its leadership team are expected to drive further growth and innovation, solidifying the company’s position as a leader in the next-generation data center space.
