This year at ITW Roy Hillard, VP of Business Development at NJFX, and Felix Seda, General Manager, had a chance to sit down with JSA TV to discuss all of the exciting new initiatives NJFX has coming down the pipeline to increase connectivity between the US, Europe, and Latin America. From the Nordic Gateway to their new Partnership with Neutrona Networks, NJFX is making waves in the subsea industry by creating diversity and resiliency through their unique business model.
NJFX owns and operates a 64,800 square foot purpose-built Tier 3 Cable Landing Station (CLS) Colocation facility and 58-acre campus in Wall, NJ that provides connectivity between North America, Europe, South America and the Carribbean. In an effort to expand this reach and reduce the latency to the European market, Bulk Infrastructure has chosen NJFX as the landing station for The Nordic Gateway, which will serve as an on-ramp to the Havfrue cable to Ireland, Norway and Denmark.
“[This] really creates a win-win situation between sustainability and economics. So you’ve got great economical hyperscale opportunities for Norway and Denmark, and that’s 98% renewable energy, and the cost is in line, too.” Says Mr. Hillard.
Through a partnership with Neutrona, NJFX is now able to provide a unique connectivity solution between the US and LATAM markets that avoids the traditional route of going through Florida. According to Mr. Seda, this benefits US carriers and subsea providers alike by allowing them the resiliency, diversity, and overall connectivity from a CLS that hosts multiple connections to the EU and beyond. NJFX is stirring up interest from OTTs and enterprises by “switching the script” and avoiding the usual choke points of the traditional connections to carrier hotels via NJFX’s neutral site and optimal location.
