Lightpath received an impressive distinction recently with its 5-Star Rating and score of 96 on the 2022 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) Report. The score placed Lightpath first among all participating private data transmission companies in the data infrastructure sector in the Americas.
What is GRESB?
GRESB, the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark, is an industry-led organization providing actionable ESG data to financial markets for investors, asset managers, and the industry as a whole.
How does this work?
The GRESB assessment is essentially guided by what investors and the industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of real asset investments. The data aligns with international reporting frameworks such as GRI and PRI. GRESB Assessments are performed on a yearly basis, validated by a third party and then scored to benchmark ESG performance of infrastructure assets across the world and monitor sector progress toward global sustainability goals.
The methodology is rigorous and the average GRESB score among participating organizations is a 79. With that in mind, in the 2022 report, Lightpath, an all-fiber, infrastructure-based connectivity provider that is revolutionizing how organizations connect to their digital destinations, just recently announced they received a 96/100 on the 2022 GRESB Infrastructure Asset Benchmark far surpassing their competitors. To add to the excitement, Lightpath also received a 5-Star Rating. This score officially places Lightpath first among all participating data transmission companies in the Americas.
“Lightpath’s initial GRESB assessment and score of 96 represents the importance that our Board and our management team place on ESG objectives. We intend to continue our efforts in the areas of ESG which we believe will not only benefit our company, but also the communities in which we operate and, of course, hopefully the Earth.” – Chris Morley, CEO of Lightpath
