Lightpath is announcing the launch of Cloud Connect for Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute as part of its Cloud Connect service offerings. The offering consists of multiple service options for direct connectivity to Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute in Secaucus NJ, Ashburn VA, and soon in Miami FL as part of LightPath’s latest expansion.
This service is an all-fiber cloud connectivity solution that connects on-premises networks to Azure cloud services directly and securely. In addition, it improves the throughput of cloud services and increases network security by not utilizing the public Internet. The solution offers Ethernet connectivity up to 10 Gbps and wavelength connectivity up to 100 Gbps.
“Adding Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute to our Cloud Connect offerings makes it easier than ever for organizations to improve the benefits of the cloud while ensuring the highest level of security and reliability. The cloud is only as powerful as the connectivity to it. Lightpath’s network has the power, reach, reliability, and security that is a perfect match for connecting our customers to Azure services.” – Phil Olivero, CTO of Lightpath
Businesses, educators, and governments are increasingly using cloud services to improve efficiency, simplify internal IT operations, and enhance end-user experiences. With the adoption of more cloud applications and cloud data storage, organizations need higher-performance connectivity to the cloud. While the public Internet allows organizations to connect to cloud services, ever-increasing security requirements prohibit them from doing so.
Lightpath owns and operates a dense, all-fiber network spanning over 20,000 route miles and connecting over 13,500 service locations throughout New York Metro, Boston Metro, and Miami Metro.
