Sustainability in data centres has been a very prominent topic in Europe as of late. In his most recent JSA TV interview, João Marques Lima welcomes Jonathan Evans, Founder & Director of Total Data Centre Solutions, to talk about sustainability in data centres and his involvement in green data centre initiatives.
Jonathan’s work in data centre sustainability began with the Green Mountain Data Centre project in Norway. More recently, he was involved with the EcoDataCenter in Sweden, the world’s first “climate-positive” data centre.
From renewable energy to heat redistribution and exploring new building materials, there are a lot of exciting innovations within the industry aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of data centres in Europe. During the interview, Jonathan and Joao take a deep dive into many of the big trends, advancements – and challenges – in sustainability in Europe.
