Jezzibell Gilmore, Chief Commercial Officer of Connectbase and co-founder of NaaS provider PacketFabric, was awarded the MVP honor at the 19th annual Leading Lights Awards, organized by Light Reading. While driving innovation, connectivity, and digital equity, Gilmore has made outstanding contributions to telecommunications. This award recognizes all of those achievements and more, shortly after Jezzibell was also honored as one of the top 3 Leading Female Telco Professionals in the Antonio Meucci Global Telco Awards
Gilmore has always been at the technology forefront and is known for her extensive experience and unwavering integrity. Starting her career at AboveNet, a data center pioneer, she later joined Akamai, known for creating the first mobile payment app and pioneering content delivery networks (CDN). Her venture, PacketFabric, addressed connectivity simplification and unveiled the potential of NaaS and network automation, resonating strongly with the telecom industry. This journey ultimately brought her to Connectbase.
Connectbase’s ecosystem revolutionized the industry by automating previously manual processes and creating an unparalleled marketplace for connectivity transactions. This platform has been instrumental in accelerating rural broadband deployment and monetizing 5G technology. Joining Connectbase as Chief Commercial Officer earlier this year, Gilmore recognized the global need for improved infrastructure access. With her eyes on global expansion, Jezzibell drives the company toward making the consumption of infrastructure services much easier globally.
“We are absolutely thrilled and deeply honored to see Jezzibell’s exceptional contributions acknowledged in this way. Her recognition with the Leading Light’s MVP Award is a testament to the collective effort of our incredible team at Connectbase and our unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and digital equity. We are truly grateful for this recognition, and we are wholeheartedly proud of Jezzibell’s dedication to making a meaningful impact on our industry and society as a whole,” stated Ben Edmond, Connectbase CEO.
Gilmore remains a trusted advisor for PacketFabric and with over five years of heavy involvement on the Board of Directors with NANOG, Gilmore helped to advance an open, secure and robust Internet.
Also recognized for the award was Maryam Rofougaran, CEO of Movandi.
