Major Investment in Archtop Fiber Accelerates the Delivery of World-Class Broadband Internet to New York’s Hudson Valley

Did you know nearly one in four U.S. households lacks reliable Internet access? Luckily, good news is on the way for Internet users in New York’s Hudson Valley. Post Road Group, a private market investor, plans to invest up to $350 million in Archtop Fiber, a provider of symmetrical multi-gig, 100%-fiber Internet and phone service to residential and business customers across the Northeast, with a focus on historically underserved and overlooked communities.

Post Road Group’s significant investment is set to turbocharge Archtop Fiber’s XGS-PON fiber network expansion project, bringing a new world of connectivity to more than 500,000 businesses and households across New York’s Hudson Valley. Spanning from the eastern Pennsylvania border to western Massachusetts, the new fiber-to-home network is being built to support today’s multi-gig standards with the ability to scale for future multi-100-gig and multi-terabit capacity. The expansive market rollout plan has begun with the acquisition of GTel in Germantown and recently announced Town/Village of Saugerties, in addition to the City of Kingston, Town of Ulster, among many more to come.

“The partnership we have formed with Post Road Group strengthens our fully-funded business strategy to deliver world-class, symmetrical, multi-gig Internet and phone services across a 100%-fiber network,” said Jeff DeMond, Chairman and CEO of Archtop Fiber. “Post Road Group is quickly growing its portfolio of fiber-to-the-home and related digital infrastructure and service businesses, and their dedication to advancing fiber broadband will empower Archtop to grow its presence across the Northeast and beyond.”

In addition, the investment is a reflection of Archtop and Post Road Group’s commitment to the advancement and reinvigoration of local communities by working closely with their leaders and businesses to meet their unique connectivity needs.

“We are truly invested in the communities we serve,” added DeMond. “We take great pride in working with local businesses, employing local team members, and becoming an integral tech partner and neighbor to provide underserved areas with new and unlimited possibilities that, before now, were unattainable.”
