The Dallas-Fort Worth area continues to strengthen its position as a leading national data center market, and a new joint venture is set to solidify this standing even further. Provident Data Centers (“PDC”), a division of the Dallas-based real estate development firm Provident, has announced a partnership with PowerHouse Data Centers (“PowerHouse”), a division of American Real Estate Partners (AREP) and a leader in next-generation hyperscale data center development. Together, the two companies will develop a major, multi-phase hyperscale data center campus spanning 768 acres in the heart of the Metroplex.
Why Dallas-Fort Worth
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is already a heavyweight in the data center market, ranking second in the U.S. with a staggering 776 megawatts of leased critical IT power capacity as of late 2024. Its robust fiber connectivity, skilled workforce, and pro-business tax environment make it an ideal location for future development.
This joint venture is designed to meet the growing needs of hyperscalers and data center operators, offering an expansive footprint, significant power delivery, and industry-leading speed-to-market. The project underscores the critical role of the Dallas-Fort Worth region as a hub for digital infrastructure and connectivity, further supporting the area’s rise as a leader in the data center industry.
A Community-Focused Approach
One of the defining features of this project is its commitment to the surrounding community. From the earliest planning stages, Provident and PowerHouse have prioritized open communication with local officials and residents to ensure mutual benefit.
“We believe in building partnerships where every party can succeed,” said Provident Founder and CEO Leon Backes. “Data centers bring significant benefits, from tax revenue for schools and cities to job creation and improved infrastructure.”
Sustainability is another cornerstone of this project. The design and construction team, renowned for its expertise, will ensure that the campus integrates seamlessly with the environment, reducing its ecological footprint while delivering cutting-edge functionality. To learn more about the partnership, read the press release Powerhouse and Provident Partner to Develop Hyperscale Data Center Campus in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
