Horizon will rebrand to Glo Fiber following its acquisition by Shenandoah Telecommunications (Shentel). Horizon’s fiber to the home services will be integrated into the Glo Fiber brand and Horizon’s enterprise solutions will become part of Glo Fiber Business. Shentel announced the original intent to acquire Horizon in October of last year and announced the completion of the acquisition on April 1st.
Horizon’s dense, state-of-the-art fiber network, which spans Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Indiana with more than 6,500 route miles of fiber, complements Shentel’s residential and commercial services. The result is a combined fiber footprint of 15,400 miles across seven states. This strategic acquisition empowers Horizon and Shentel to further support and achieve their mutual commitments to bringing robust connectivity and digital opportunities to the areas where they’re most needed.
“We believe combining Horizon’s leading commercial fiber business with our rapidly growing residential Glo Fiber business will translate to a stronger combined business,” said Christopher E. French, President and CEO of Shentel.
