DF&I continues adding to its Express Connect network, celebrating its partnership with DataBridge Sites. The third partnership announcement in three months highlights the advantages that DataBridge customers have seen as a result of coming on-net with DF&I, including significant latency advantages provided by DF&I’s Express Connect offering.
During the last 2 years of the partnership, Databridge has seen many successes. Carriers have adopted the Express Connect network, utilizing it as their primary route into Ashburn and establishing direct underground connections to the north and east of the facility.
“The Express Connect network offers many great cross-connects to DataBridge Sites clients, as it’s on-net to the most relevant data centers across the region,” says DF&I’s co-founder and chief revenue officer John Schmitt.
DF&I’s Express Connect network offers unmatched physical route diversity, seamlessly connecting Northern Virginia and Baltimore. With over 40,000 fiber strands between Maryland and Virginia, and an impressive 70,000 fiber strands within Virginia—all securely underground—it stands as a top-quality dark fiber system in the market.
The current setup facilitates a seamless connection to DataBank’s Ashburn campus, which features two cutting-edge facilities spanning 300,000 square feet and 50 MW of critical IT load across 13 acres. Positioned in Data Center Alley, it’s an ideal choice for enterprises, web-scale SaaS, or hyperscale cloud workloads seeking exceptional interconnection and expansion options.
