Data Movers Podcast with João Marques Lima: Perspectives on Data Center Trends and His Interview Bucket List

João Marques Lima has had an impressive career as a journalist and media expert in the telecom and data center space with credentials that include former editor-in-chief for both Data Economy and Capacity Media. He joins the latest episode of JSA’s Data Movers podcast to offer his thoughts on current industry trends and share stories from his background.

Ever wondered what makes an interview memorable for a journalist? For João the answer is simple: learning something new. From interviews with former CEO of Equinix Steve Smith to Bill Stein, CEO of Digital Realty and more, Joao has had the chance to sit down with some of the data center industry’s biggest players, and offers some interesting tidbits about their conversations. And when it comes to a dream interview, João steers clear of the typical “tech guy” response of Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg and instead opts for Kamala Harris, noting that he would be interested in insights on the Biden Administration’s first 100 days in office and her thoughts on sustainability initiatives.

Sustainability is an industry trend that João watches closely and during the podcast he shares his thoughts on sustainability’s growing importance within the data center industry. He also shares his interest in the expansion of the data center market and offers perspectives on how data centers cropping up with more frequency in places we have not historically seen a concentration of them, such as India, Italy and Asia-Pacific.

To hear Joao divulge what emerging technologies he’s keeping tabs and even the last Netflix series he binged, you can check out the episode of Data Movers here.
