DartPoints Enters Louisiana With Three New Data Center Locations

DartPointsDartPoints has acquired Venyu and its three Louisiana data center facilities. This addition brings DartPoints’ network of data centers to 11, covering over 325,000 square feet and 20 megawatts of power in 10 U.S. markets across five states.

On top of its data center infrastructure and cloud services, Venyu has proven itself to be a pioneer in the area of data security. For instance, following Hurricane Katrina, Venyu was one of the first companies to offer virtualization as a disaster recovery solution. In addition to meeting Department of Defense anti-terrorism force protection codes, Venyu’s Shreveport data center is among the most secure in the country. With a history of over 30 years in the industry, its client list includes manufacturing companies, media outlets, several major healthcare facilities, and even the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. Adding its Louisiana-based business into the DartPoints fold will bring added opportunities to expand its depth of expertise and breadth of services.

For DartPoints, the move is about expanding its geographical footprint, where they can support customers’ mission critical environments in new markets. As a provider of colocation, cloud, and cybersecurity services for the edge, the acquisition is part of DartPoints’ strategy of investing in data center infrastructure in mid-size edge markets where latency requirements, interconnection demands, and multicloud architectures are driving growth. The Venyu agreement comes on the heels of its similarly motivated acquisitions of Metro Data Centers and Immedion in the last three years.

“Serving edge markets is where our passion and expertise lie, and this acquisition expands our geographic coverage to a third region: the South Central U.S. We are thrilled to now serve hundreds of enterprises and service provider customers in Louisiana and around the country by way of three top-tier data centers in Baton Rouge and Shreveport,” explained DartPoints CEO Scott Willis. “The expanded geographical reach combined with the expertise that the Venyu team brings sets up DartPoints for continued accelerated growth.”
