CleanArc Data Centers, a renewables-focused hyperscale data center developer and operator, has announced a strategic investment from Townsend Group, a leading global advisor to institutional investors. This investment, made in partnership with existing majority stakeholder Snowhawk LP, marks a significant milestone in CleanArc’s rapid growth trajectory.
Townsend led the investment on behalf of a global consortium of institutional investors, including top sovereign wealth and pension funds, focused on securing long-term stakes in high-performing infrastructure platforms. The new partnership will support CleanArc as it advances development of its inaugural 300 MW data center campus in Virginia, slated for delivery in Q1 2027.
“We’re excited to welcome Townsend as a strategic investment partner,” said James Trout, Founder and CEO of CleanArc. “Their capital markets expertise, institutional knowledge, and private real assets scale will be instrumental as we execute on our mission to develop the data centers of the future, particularly our inaugural campus in Virginia, VA1. Townsend brings a demonstrated track record of supporting transformative businesses throughout their growth journeys. And with Snowhawk’s ongoing investment leadership, we’re well-equipped to continue tackling the growing data center challenges faced by hyperscalers.
