CleanArc Data Centers Welcomes Two New Members to Executive Team

CleanArc is announcing two new members to its expanding executive team. Ashlie Alaman has been appointed Senior Vice President of Legal and General Counsel and Neil Sherlock recently came on board as Senior Vice President of Finance.

Both executives bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to CleanArc, a developer and operator of sustainability-focused hyperscale data center campuses. Alaman has an extensive background in environmental, energy, and real estate law, having worked in a variety of roles, including in private equity. Sherlock brings deep experience in commercial real estate finance and capital markets.

James Trout, Founder and CEO of CleanArc, noted that Alaman’s strong background in land use, regulatory compliance, and environmental law, will be a major asset as CleanArc advances its innovative hyperscale development solution. At the same time, Sherlock’s significant background in three core areas — commercial real estate financing, digital infrastructure, and capital raising strategies — make him the perfect fit for CleanArc’s next phase.

CleanArc has assembled the critical components — development at campus-scale, renewable energy structuring for carbon offset goals, and “data center production” via creative offsite manufacturing partnerships — into a turn-key solution for hyperscalers seeking to expand quickly, sustainably, and cost-effectively.

“It’s exciting to be a part of CleanArc as it develops this first-of-its-kind hyperscale development solution,” said Alaman. “CleanArc is addressing hyperscalers’ real need for greater data center capacity while at the same time advancing their carbon neutrality goals.”

Sherlock also said he’s happy to join the company. “CleanArc’s unique approach is solving one of the industry’s biggest challenges: delivering on the increasing need for hyperscale capacity while creating new green energy sources to advance sustainability,” he said. “I’m thrilled to be part of this innovative effort, alongside an incredible team of veteran industry experts.”

Alaman started her career at Bracewell LLP, a Houston-based private practice, as an environmental attorney specializing in energy, real estate, and technology. From there, she transitioned to Vistra Energy, a Fortune 500 integrated retail electricity and power generation company, where she advised on a myriad of issues including land use, regulatory compliance, and environmental impacts to land and water.

After six years, she moved to CyrusOne, a leading global data center developer and operator, where she focused on domestic and international real estate and construction. Most recently, Alaman served as Associate General Counsel at Marathon Digital Holdings, a digital currency miner and data center operator.

Prior to joining CleanArc, Sherlock served as Vice President of Finance & Capital Markets at Landmark Dividend, a vertically integrated investment manager specializing in mission-critical telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and real estate. During his tenure at Landmark, he completed over $3 billion in total transaction volume, demonstrating his adeptness in both debt and equity capital markets.

Sherlock also previously served as Senior Director of Commercial Capital Markets at Ygrene Energy Fund, where he spearheaded efforts to grow and diversify access to various capital channels as well as to expand the company’s national lending platform.
