Bandwidth IG and Flexential are joining forces to deliver more dark fiber connectivity to a growing part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Bandwidth IG, a rapidly growing provider of dark fiber, is connecting Flexential’s Atlanta – Douglasville to its newly constructed dark fiber and conduit network that services Douglasville, Lithia Springs and other parts of Douglas County, where data center growth has accelerated.
Atlanta Dark Fiber & Data Center Development
The Atlanta data center market is one of the fastest growing markets in the U.S. and is expected to more than triple over the next several years. Concerns over how quickly data centers have developed in the city have recently led to the Atlanta City Council considering legislation that would prohibit more data centers from being constructed near the BeltLine and other dense areas. This demonstrates the need for more dark fiber and data center connectivity in metro areas outside the core business district.
Bandwidth IG’s network is strategically placed to provide dark fiber capacity to data centers in the downtown area, as well as emerging parts of the Greater Atlanta area, such as Flexential’s Atlanta-Douglasville facility located approximately 20 miles west of Atlanta.
