Big Moves in Florida Fiber: South Reach Networks Joins Blue Owl Digital Infrastructure

What an exciting update from South Reach Networks (SRN)! This leading Florida-based fiber infrastructure provider has been acquired by a fund managed by Blue Owl Capital’s Digital Infrastructure strategy, representing a major step forward for regional connectivity and growth.

With a 370-mile dark and lit fiber network running from Jacksonville to Miami and five strategically located edge colocation facilities, SRN has become a critical piece of Florida’s digital infrastructure. The network is already on or near-net to more than 40 data centers, colocation sites, and cable landing stations — and it’s about to grow even more.

Blue Owl plans to invest significant capital to expand SRN’s footprint, supporting new builds across the state to meet surging demand from hyperscale and enterprise users.

Leadership will also evolve as Scott Bergs, current CEO of Dark Fiber and Infrastructure (DF&I), another Blue Owl portfolio company, steps in as CEO of SRN in addition to his role at DF&I. His dual leadership is expected to drive scale and synergy across the portfolio.

“South Reach Networks has established itself as the premier communications infrastructure provider in Florida,” said Bergs. “With Blue Owl, we’ll scale the business to meet the ever-growing need for fiber from Jacksonville to Miami and beyond.”

SRN Chief Revenue Officer Mike Sevret added, “I’m incredibly proud of what the SRN team has built. With new ownership and a shared vision, this next chapter brings exciting opportunities to expand our digital footprint.”

Chris Jensen, Managing Director at Blue Owl, emphasized the strategic importance of the Southeast: “This region is a key priority for our hyperscale customers. We’re excited to support SRN’s growth and expand our capabilities across the region.”

This acquisition marks a significant new chapter for one of Florida’s most established fiber networks — with even greater scale and impact on the horizon.

Congrats to all!
