T5 CEO Talks Cybersecurity and Quantum Computing with Capacity Media

T5’s President and CEO, Pete Marin recently sat down with the all-star Capacity Media team on Season 4, episode 7 of the Digital Digest Podcast. Melanie Mingas – Editor, Natalie Bannerman – Deputy Editor and Alan Burkitt-Gray – Editor at Large, all weighed in on T5’s growth, new Cybersecurity Data Center, the company’s enterprise and hyperscale focus and what it takes to earn the business of these critical sectors.

T5@Augusta: As Marin explained, T5 is “making strides into the Federal IT space” with its 140 acre, 200 MW cloud data center campus located in the U.S. cybersecurity hub outside of Atlanta, Georgia. T5@Augusta leverages and builds upon the cluster for advanced cybersecurity initiatives that are in close proximity to the U.S. Army’s Cyber Command Headquarters at Fort Gordon and will be ideal for federal, hyperscale, or government contracted enterprise businesses.

Marin noted that T5 is seeing an increased demand for cybersecurity, and the organizations that support it will need a proximate location and low latency connectivity.

Quantum Computing Accelerating the Digital Economy

The discussion segued into Quantum computing, as a key solution to solving cybersecurity threats, and the standards that have to be adhered to currently and how they will continue to evolve in the future.

Quantum computing will allow the industry to enter in completely new areas. Marin said to let your imagination run wild as he explained some real world use-cases. To optimize quantum computing fully, it takes a lot of compute and storage to navigate the simplest things. All in all, federal government agencies will need additional capacity and low latency routes right where that communication takes place.
