In the News: CTA Featured in Capacity Media Article

China Telecom Americas (CTA) was founded in 2002 with the mission of helping enterprises in the Americas expand into China and vice versa. Just as the world was rolling into a new, more digitally driven century, China Telecom, CTA’s parent company, began serving the Americas with the launch of CTA.

However, a lot has changed since 2002; China had just joined the World Trade Organization, adding the nation’s 1.3 billion people to the global economy, Facebook had yet to change the way we’d interact with friends and family, and Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me” topped the song charts in the U.S.

Nickelback may no longer have the most popular song, but they maintain a strong following. And while China remains part of the global economy, doing business there has become more complex, especially for U.S. enterprises.

CTA’s vice president, , recently discussed the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for CTA in the June/July 2022 issue of Capacity Magazine. Check out the article, Reality Hits China Telecom’s American Arm, or keep reading for the highlights.

The article clarifies the services that CTA offers today for its U.S.-based customers and about how CTA is providing much-needed services in parts of LATAM.

“What we started to do was look at opportunities in Latin America,” said Fiallo in the Capacity article. “The world is moving to the cloud and everything is about computing power.”

Fiallo goes on to explain that they’re building on-ramps to data centers or cloud partners in various parts of LATAM, which is CTA’s “renewed focus.”
