FiberSense, a fiber optic sensing technology and monitoring company that’s growing globally, announced this week another recognition for its expanding shelf of awards. FiberSense won in the Innovation SME category for DigitalAsset™ at The ACOMM Awards 2022, the premier Australian communications and technology awards presented by Communications Alliance.

DigitalAsset™ provides advanced threat detection for critical infrastructure and underground assets, including water lines, oil and gas pipelines, power lines and fiber infrastructure. The technology acts as a sensing service on existing assets and reduces costly downtime and expensive repairs to critical underground assets.

The judging panel for the ACOMMM Awards 2022 acknowledged the “market making” nature of FiberSense’s DigitalAsset™ offering and how this service dramatically improves the level of real-time awareness in protecting and securing critical infrastructure.

“Excellence in innovation is a pervasive trait in the achievement of the 2022 ACOMM winners,” stated ACOMM Awards 2022 Judging Chair John Stanton in the category announcement.

The award for FiberSense came in a highly competitive category with other winners on the night including Nokia, Ericsson, Telstra and SingTel Optus.

The announcement comes on the heels of a CommsDay Innovation Award for its use of sensing technology that FiberSense won in May this year at the CommsDay Award dinner.

FiberSense services have been deployed to cover fiber networks in Europe, South Africa, New Zealand, the Americas, Australia and across subsea cables linking major continents this year alone.
