FiberSense, a fiber optic sensing technology and monitoring company that’s winning accolades for its asset monitoring tech in 2022, was highly commended at the Annual Global Telecoms Awards in the Digital Infrastructure Innovation category for the company’s innovative DigitalAsset™ Marine product. FiberSense was the only company to earn the “highly commended distinction” in its category.

The Global Telecoms Awards, also known as the Glotel Awards, recognizes innovation and excellence from companies that strive to advance the world’s telecoms industry.

DigitalAsset Marine was highly commended for its submission in the Digital Infrastructure Innovation category, just more than a month after being shortlisted for its submission. A new award for the Glotel Awards this year, the category description recognized those that have “shown itself to significantly advance the field of digital infrastructure through exceptional technological, logistical or financial innovation.”

DigitalAsset™ Marine uses fiber optic sensing technology to monitor subsea cables on sea floorbeds, offering real-time threat detection and live monitoring of the vital cables that keep the world connected from continent to continent. 

The Glotel Awards received more than 200 entries this year and had a shortlist of applications that was reduced to just more than 100 entries. 

FiberSense services have been activated across fiber networks in Europe, the Americas, Australia and across subsea cables linking major continents this year alone.
