Almost $110 Million Booked in 2024 Thanks to AI Connectivity Demands
Lightpath closed out 2024 with nearly $1 billion worth of prospects, fueled by demand for infrastructure capable of supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. The all-fiber, infrastructure-based connectivity provider also announced that it had booked nearly $110 million in AI-driven digital infrastructure sales to hyperscalers last year.
The 2024 bookings and infrastructure opportunities were fueled by demand from all major hyperscalers seeking to procure enormous levels of bandwidth for current and future projects involving AI. At the same time, Lightpath is experiencing strong sales and growing demand across over 10 markets, including existing and new ones.
Innovations in AI are continuing to snowball, leading to unparalleled demand for high-bandwidth connectivity. AI deployments not only require massive bandwidth but also low latency and robust security. There is a unique opportunity to reshape fiber infrastructure in the U.S. thanks to the unprecedented rise in demand that Lightpath is seeing, transforming connectivity over the next 10 years.
“At Lightpath, we recognize the critical importance of delivering solutions designed to serve our customers for decades to come,” said Tim Haverkate, Executive Vice President of Lightpath. “We are committed to partnering with our customers to build networks that support organizations at the forefront of adopting transformational technologies.”
“The current momentum around AI represents an exciting opportunity for Lightpath,” said Rachel Stack, CFO of Lightpath. We believe we’ve only begun to tap the economic potential of AI-driven demand and anticipate that it will serve as a key growth vehicle for years to come.”
