Legrand’s Newest KVM Solution Designed To Rapidly Restore Downed Systems

Legrand has launched a new generation of KVM-over-IP solution that enables IT teams to bring critical systems back online in minutes.

Dominion KX III G2 is available under Legrand’s Raritan brand and supports everyday IT operations in terms of managing, troubleshooting and maintaining critical systems — including bringing them back online following outages, software failures and cybersecurity disruptions.

As IT environments grow and teams are stretched thin, secure remote access is more important than ever. Unlike software-based remote tools that fail when an operating system crashes, KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) technology allows administrators to interact with servers as if they were physically standing in front of them.

Because it operates below the operating system layer, technicians can remotely access BIOS settings, reboot into safe mode, and initiate recovery during major outages or cyber incidents. This hardware-level control drastically reduces Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) from days to minutes without requiring an on-site technician.

“IT teams need consistent, secure control of their infrastructure every day and immediate access when systems go down – regardless of location, scale or what layer of the stack has failed,” said Paul Mott, Product Management Director at Legrand. “The Dominion KX III G2 is designed to give organizations secure, reliable access to the equipment they depend on most, helping them recover faster and operate more efficiently.”

Modernized Performance and Automation

Built on Legrand’s Xerus™ architecture, the Dominion KX III G2 upgrades a trusted remote management platform with enhanced security, stronger performance, and new automation capabilities:

  • Automation at Scale: Features a new management API and built-in SDK for deployments ranging from 10 to 10,000 devices, allowing teams to automate workflows and video capture.
  • High-Performance Video: Uses proprietary compression technology to deliver sharp 1080p visuals at 60 fps with low bandwidth consumption.
  • Security by Design: Includes a FIPS 140-2 certified cryptographic module, Secure Boot firmware verification, and an integrated TPM for hardware-based credential protection.
  • Flexible Scaling: Designed to scale seamlessly across LAN, WAN, internet, mobile, or dial-up connections.
