JSA TV had the chance to sit down with Linn Gowen, the VP of Sales and Marketing for 1623 Farnam, and discussed what sets their data center apart from the rest.
1623 Farnam is located advantageously in Omaha, Nebraska right at the nexus of many fiber networks, including some from the early days of telecommunications. This allows customers of 1623 Farnam to connect north, south, east, and west from their facility with ease and access most of the United States.
Not only is their location ideal, 1623 Farnam is also in the process of carrying out facility improvements and renovations to the tune of $40 million secured from external funding. This will optimize their operations significantly, and result in better service, increased power densities, and high quality data center options for their customers. The data center serves as a major interconnection hub for carriers, content and cloud providers and is a Gateway to Google’s largest US node.
Linn also remarks that they are now the owners and host of Omaha-IX, which currently routes 200 gigabytes of traffic.
