RadiusDC, a leading provider of highly connected, innovative and resilient data center solutions, has announced a significant expansion of its data center platform with the development of a new 24MW edge colocation campus in the Indianapolis metropolitan area, beginning with the facility known as Indy I.
This strategic development is designed to address the rapidly growing demand for low-latency, high-performance computing at the network edge in central Indiana.
Introducing Indy I
Located in Plainfield, IN, Indy I is positioned to become a critical hub for digital infrastructure.
- Next-Generation Design: Indy I features a ground-up design purpose-built to offer the performance, reliability and scalability required by modern digital businesses. Its architecture is based on the same cutting-edge design as RadiusDC’s Nashville I facility, which is currently under construction.
- High-Performance Architecture: The facility will feature a high-availability, concurrently maintainable architecture, specifically engineered to support advanced edge and inferencing applications.
- Sustainability Commitment: Demonstrating a commitment to environmentally responsible operations, Indy I incorporates efficient closed-loop chillers, which enable near-zero water consumption. This design choice helps preserve the local waterway and existing vegetation on the site.
- Future Expansion: The Indianapolis campus includes dedicated space for a future facility, Indy II, which will be designed with matching capabilities to ensure continued capacity for growth.
- Power and Partnership: Power for the site will be supplied by a new substation currently under development next to the property, ensuring robust and dependable delivery.
Mike Krza, CEO of RadiusDC, stated, “We are proud to announce Indy I, a project that is set to supercharge central Indiana’s digital infrastructure. Indy I represents the next chapter in RadiusDC’s evolution with a design built to deliver exactly what our customers need—performance, reliability, and scalability for the future.”
Proactively Planning for Future Demand
This project serves as a key example of RadiusDC’s strategy to solve capacity challenges while proactively planning for future demand. RadiusDC is partnering with the Town of Plainfield and Duke Energy on this initiative, recognizing that this long-term technology investment will strengthen local infrastructure and contribute meaningfully to the community and local economy.
Indy I marks the fifth data center development for RadiusDC, adding to its growing footprint that includes locations in Denver and Miami, and recent projects in Atlanta and Nashville.
Congratulations, RadiusDC!
