Precision Liquid Cooling Technology Pioneered by Iceotope Reaches 1500W Achievement

Data centers face escalating thermal demands due to higher compute densities and the rising thermal design power needed for AI workloads. Iceotope has once again demonstrated its leadership in liquid cooling technology following its earlier achievement in cooling chips at 1000W by announcing a new breakthrough:  achieving 1500W chip-level cooling.

This latest test was conducted in Iceotope’s state-of-the-art testing facility, emphasizing its innovative approach to tackling the heat management challenges in modern IT environments. By scaling up the chip power to 1500W and maintaining a dielectric supply temperature at a manageable 28.6° Celsius (83.5° F), the system adeptly kept the CPU within a safe operational temperature of 85°C (185° F). This performance translates to thermal resistance from the dielectric inlet to the CPU case at an impressively low rate of 0.037 K/W.

Iceotope’s accomplishment in attaining the 1500W milestone showcases the effectiveness of forced convection heat transfer techniques and is a testament to the company’s unique approach to cooling. This approach, which differs significantly from conventional methods like cold plate or immersion cooling, ensures consistent low thermal resistance across various chip power levels, making Iceotope’s Precision Liquid Cooling (PLC) solutions scalable and reliable for the future of computing.
