Munters Builds State-of-the-Art Facility to Meet Rising Demand for Data Center Cooling Solutions in Europe

Munters, a global leader in reliable, energy-efficient data center cooling solutions, is building a 120,000 square-foot state-of-the-art production facility in Cork, Ireland. The new facility will enable expanded production of the company’s cooling solutions to meet the growing demands for data center cooling as AI adoption and cloud technology advance at a rapid pace across Europe.

“The new production and office facility is yet another example of how we continue to invest in Europe following the successful acquisition of EDPAC in 2022. The growing demand for our innovative and energy-efficient cooling solutions has made investing in increased production capabilities a natural next step to better serve the EMEA market,” said Stefan Aspman, President of Business Area Data Center Technologies at Munters.

Projected to be fully operational within the first half of 2025, the Cork facilityis designed to manufacture the company’s complete data center cooling portfolio, including computer room air handlers (CRAHs), computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units, fan wall units, direct evaporative cooling (DEC) units, Oasis indirect evaporative cooling (IEC) units, make up air (MUA) units, in addition to the adaptable air and liquid cooling system, SyCool Split.

With increased capacity and improved workflows, the facility’s sustainable design will use less energy and water compared to conventional buildings, making it LEED Silver compliant with an A Building Energy Rating.

“We are very excited about the progress we are making with the business and the new facility,”  said Paul Holland, Managing Director Data Center Technologies, Munters EMEA. By expanding our production capability, we can be even more responsive to our customers’ capacity and lead-time needs.”
