How Military Veterans are Powering the Digital Infrastructure Industry  [A Spotlight Interview Series]

Military veterans are increasingly finding rewarding careers in digital infrastructure, where their technical skills, discipline, and problem-solving abilities gained in the military are highly valued. Roles in data centers, cybersecurity, and network engineering align well with military training in areas like critical thinking, crisis management, and security protocols. Their experience with complex systems translates seamlessly into high-tech, operational roles within the industry.

With backgrounds in teamwork, leadership, and precision, veterans are well-suited for the fast-paced, mission-critical environments of digital infrastructure. This alignment not only helps veterans transition to civilian careers in digital infrastructure, but also brings disciplined, experienced talent to the industry.

In this interview spotlight series, several military members of the digital infrastructure community share their experiences and insights, including:

  • How their military experience influenced or guided their approach to working in the digital infrastructure industry, and
  • How they see the future of digital infrastructure evolving, and the role they believe veterans or military personnel can play in shaping that future.
