This milestone marks a major advancement toward improved satellite antenna performance, flexibility and efficiency, enabling wide-angle, multibeam coverage for broadcast, defense, radar and ultra wideband satellite communications.
Luneburg Lenses enable multibeam antennas capable of transmitting and receiving signals simultaneously across a range of directions and frequencies – without the cost and complexity of conventional reflector dishes or phased arrays. Although the Luneburg Lens has been known for decades, manufacturing large-format, high-frequency RF lenses previously was a major engineering challenge.
Revolutionary Technology
MatSing’s manufacturing innovation leverages extremely low-loss dielectric materials, precise permittivity control and tight dimensional tolerances, empowering advanced Luneburg Lenses at sizes and performance levels previously unavailable. This technology offers wide-angle coverage, high-gain wideband operation, multibeam capability, low loss and isotropic performance. As a result, a single lens antenna can simultaneously link and track multiple satellites across a wide field of view and multiple frequencies with high performance and reduced infrastructure configurations, allowing significant savings in space requirements and investment costs.
