KIO Data Centers Expands Querétaro’s Digital Hub With the Launch of QRO2

KIO Data Centers has officially launched Querétaro 02 (QRO2), its newest carrier-neutral data center in one of Mexico’s most strategic technology corridors. With this expansion, KIO now delivers nearly 19 MW of capacity in Querétaro, forming a high-density digital hub alongside its existing QRO1 facility.

QRO2 increases local capacity by 178% compared to QRO1, enabling the region to support fast-growing demand for cloud, AI, analytics, and other mission-critical workloads.

Why Querétaro Data Centers Are Strategic for North American Growth

KIO was the first operator to establish data center operations in Querétaro, entering the state in 2007 and helping shape it into one of Mexico’s strongest digital ecosystems. Its proximity to the U.S., strong carrier diversity, and growing interconnection landscape make it a key location for companies expanding or diversifying their North American infrastructure.

With QRO2 live, QRO1 and QRO2 now form a unified hub offering:

  • Carrier-neutral connectivity
  • Access to global networks
  • High-availability, redundant infrastructure
  • A secure, scalable environment for critical industries

These capabilities position Querétaro as a preferred destination for cloud providers, digital platforms, and enterprises looking for reliable, nearshore capacity.

“KIO Data Centers has always focused on protecting our clients’ most valuable information and enabling their growth,” said Octavio Camarena, CEO of KIO Data Centers. “The opening of QRO2 strengthens our long-standing presence in Querétaro and reinforces the state’s role in Mexico’s digital development.”

KIO’s Regional Network and Its Impact on the Mexico Data Center Market

KIO operates one of the region’s broadest interconnection ecosystems, spanning Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. This network gives organizations the ability to reduce risk, ensure operational continuity, and scale with global-standard infrastructure.

With QRO2, KIO advances its mission to support Mexico’s digital transformation with professional, secure, and future-ready data center capacity—positioning Querétaro as a central hub for the next generation of digital services across Latin America.
