Elea Data Centers, Brazil’s leading distributed and sustainable data center platform, has named Thiago Pongelupe as its new Technical Sales Director, signaling the company’s deepening commitment to AI and hyperscale infrastructure across the country. In April, I Squared Capital announced its acquisition of Elea. 

Pongelupe brings 15 years of data center industry experience to the role, having previously held leadership positions at Equinix, ODATA, and Scala Data Centers. Over the course of his career, he has spearheaded major infrastructure projects for hyperscalers and large enterprises across multiple markets. He is a Certified Data Center Specialist (CDCS®), accredited by the Uptime Institute, and holds an MBA in Innovation Management from Business School São Paulo.

In his new role, Pongelupe will oversee technical project integration, commercial solutions, pricing strategy, partner relationships, and expansion initiatives. 

“Pongelupe combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial execution and a clear understanding of hyperscale infrastructure requirements,” says Elea President Alessandro Lombardi. “As AI workloads reshape the industry, his experience will help Elea scale with the technical sophistication and operational discipline demanded by our global customers.”

Alongside Sales Director Brazil, Marcia Salomão, and VP of International Business, Elena Winters, Pongelupe will work to ensure Elea’s infrastructure continues to meet the demands of high-density AI workloads, global hyperscalers, and large enterprise customers.
