EdgeConneX Earns Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Recognition

EdgeConneX has announced its formal validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and near-term science-based emissions reduction targets. Reaching this milestone is significant because it affirms the company’s commitment to building and operating sustainable data centers worldwide, achieving carbon, waste, and water neutrality by 2030. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is an acclaimed global partnership enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science.

The SBTi’s Target Validation Team has classified EdgeConneX Scope 1 and 2 target ambition as in line with a 1.5°C trajectory, currently the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process for companies within the ICT sector.

EdgeConneX, International Cooperatief U.A. also commits to scope 3 emissions 51.6% per MegaWatt of installed data center capacity within the same timeframe. *The target boundary includes biogenic land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.
