DF&I Completes 65-Mile Fiber Route

DF&I Completes 65-Mile Fiber Route Between VA & Maryland

Wholesale provider Dark Fiber and Infrastructure, LLC (“DF&I”) just announced the completion of its latest high capacity fiber route between Ashburn, VA and Baltimore and Linthicum Heights, MD. Completion of the 65-mile, ultra-low latency route establishes DF&I as a leading Mid-Atlantic communications infrastructure provider that can deliver dedicated dark fiber without the need for signal regeneration between southern Maryland and Ashburn’s “Data Center Alley”.

While the route itself is impressive, it was the collaboration between public and private sector organizations that highlights DF&I’s ability to deliver stand-out results to key stakeholders.

“We could not be more pleased about reaching this critical milestone. We recognize and acknowledge the support we received from the State of Maryland, MDSHA, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Howard County and Anne Arundel County. Building infrastructure is a complex undertaking and the support for our network completion from the various state and local municipalities was essential during the deployment process,” said Judd Carothers, Founder and COO of DF&I.

This route isn’t the only build the company has been working on. DF&I announced plans late last year to create a new dark fiber and dedicated conduit ring extending from Ashburn through Arcola, Haymarket, Manassas, and Chantilly, expanding essential infrastructure in Northern Virginia.

“To put it simply; we’re builders,” said Chris Pancione, President of Field Services at DF&I. “There are a lot of people talking about what they are going to do; at DF&I, we’re doing it.”
