Data Movers with Justin Marron of SVP: How to Start a Disruptive Wireless Infrastructure Business

As a business owner, how do you compete against the large incumbents, the oil tankers of your industry? You don’t! You go your own way, solving vital problems that the big name players overlook and growing with your customers as a result.  The oil tanker analogy is a favorite for Justin Marron, CEO of Strategic Venue Partners (SVP), a Connecticut-based provider of wireless network infrastructure to the under-served enterprise market in North America.

In the latest episode of JSA’s Data Movers podcast series, Jaymie Scotto Cutaia and top B2B social media influencer, Evan Kirstel, caught up with Justin to talk about his journey into the wireless networking infrastructure space and what he sees coming over the next several years.

A good career is full of twists, turns and lessons learned. Certainly, Justin is no stranger to adventure. From initial aspirations to become a marine biologist, he has established a vibrant career in business development, working within large publicly traded institutions to small, entrepreneurial start-ups. Based on lessons learned over 20 years of experience in finance, real estate, renewable energy and telecommunications, Justin believes passionately in looking for unmet needs and building businesses to support them.

That’s exactly what SVP does. As Justin notes in the podcast, the big-name carriers are heavily focused on building out their macro networks while SVP concentrates heavily on providing in-building wireless systems, like DAS, Wi-Fi, fiber and Public Safety Systems, IPTV and CBRS OnGo® private LTE. Each element of SVP’s wireless infrastructure is designed to meet the specific needs required by its customers, whether commercial or residential buildings, healthcare organizations and hospitality/entertainment venues.

When asked what he sees happening over the next 5 years in terms of wireless networking infrastructure, Justin said that there’s a tremendous runway for businesses like SVP as they work with under-served businesses across North America. “There just needs to be so much infrastructure that gets built out, specifically on the building side right now,” he notes.
