Data Movers Podcast with Rosa White of DRFortress: Innovation, Connectivity and Major Milestones in Paradise

In the latest episode of JSA’s Data Movers podcast series, JSA’s Founder and CEO, Jaymie Scotto Cutaia, and top B2B social media influencer Evan Kirstel catch up with Rosa White, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer at DRFortress.

During the episode, we learned why Hawaii isn’t just a travel destination, but also a connectivity destination. Rosa explains how you can leverage the most connected data center facility in Hawaii without hopping on a plane and discusses the exponential growth DRFortress has seen over the past 15 years. Since 2006, the Honolulu-based data center has grown more than ten times in revenue, space, environmental controls, and power capacity than any other local supplier.

To piggyback on the company’s continued success, Rosa also highlights the newly launched interactive virtual tour, which showcases a 360-degree, high definition look at the two-story, 55,000 square-foot data center. “The idea [for the virtual tour] actually formulated during the pandemic, as we were still giving tours, but on a limited basis. To quickly adjust, we created a virtual tour that was more simplistic, and today, it has evolved to be very interactive and popular with our customers and prospects,” she says.

Recently crowned one of Hawaiʻi’s Best Places to Work 2022 by Hawaii Business Magazine, Rosa emphasizes the importance the company places on keeping its employees happy and healthy, especially during the trying times of COVID-19. “During the pandemic, our main focus was our most valuable asset, our employees. We spent a lot of time coming up with creative ways our employees were able to interact with each other and as a team.” Weekly virtual huddles and monthly lunch and learns were just a couple of the things the executive team implemented.

DRFortress also strives to stay connected with its Hawaiian customers and help out in the local community. The company created Diverse Paths, a program to support educational events focused on IT and technology and participate in community service to support local businesses. From volunteering at food shelters to beach cleanups to sponsoring charity events, the DRFortress team sets aside the time to participate and give back to a place the company call home.
