When the pandemic struck at the beginning of 2020, day-to-day activities such as going to school, work, and exercising came to a screeching halt. While the world struggled to accommodate and balance virtual services, Comstar Technologies created a versatile and effective solution – the Comstar Collaboration Cart, just named a 2021 Pandemic Tech Innovation Award winner.
The Comstar Collaboration Cart was created after a client, a sports and fitness industry leader, reached out to Comstar seeking a solution for their immunocompromised members. As we know, those with preexisting conditions were among some of the most severely affected by pandemic-related restrictions due to being high-risk to severe illness. In an effort to keep these folks feeling active and connected throughout the pandemic, Comstar developed the mobile cart to allow for the streaming of live classes to remote attendees, so they can participate and interact in real time.
“This project really hit home for our team,” said Bob White, Audiovisual Solutions Manager at Comstar. “I think many people can relate to worrying about their loved ones throughout the pandemic, especially those with preexisting conditions. To be able to create something that provides a sense of normalcy and gives them a part of their daily routine back was truly humbling. It’s a solution that can easily be translated to any industry, from K-12 and higher education to healthcare and professional services. To provide a solution that addresses a technology need is one aspect of this effort, the intrinsic value of helping others, particularly at this time, elevates the value of what we did exponentially.”
The Pandemic Tech Innovation Awards by TMC recognize hardware, software, devices/peripherals, applications and services, that help society and business function effectively in the face of challenges caused by the pandemic.
“Comstar has displayed its commitment to quality and innovation in the development of their tech solutions contributing to managing and overcoming pandemic outbreaks,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “I look forward to more innovation from Comstar and their continued effort toward improving the future of the current challenges faced by the most recent pandemic.”
This prestigious award comes on the heels of Comstar’s award trifecta announcement last fall. The company also launched a total brand transformation in January.
