Colo Atl and Community IX Holdings (CIX) are pairing up to enable increased connectivity options for customers in the Atlanta area. CIX-ATL, a community-based peering exchange, selected Colo Atl’s secure colocation space at 55 Marietta Street in Atlanta for its connectivity needs, which provides stronger ways for businesses that operate in the area to connect.
CIX is a Virginia-based nonprofit established in 2014 to create an internet exchange with cost-effective peering solutions. According to InternetSociety.org, internet exchange points provide important benefits to users. They can lower costs by decreasing operating costs for internet service providers, which provides stronger connectivity at a better price to users.
Colo Atl assists with CIX’s mission by allowing CIX and its members, including internet service providers, content providers and enterprises within the facility, to securely and conveniently cross connect, with no monthly recurring fees, between tenants within the Meet-Me-Area (MMA).
