Amphenol Network Solutions has launched its PIVOT™ Fiber Distribution Panel, a new fiber panel built to fit more connections into the same rack space. AI and cloud growth means data centers need more fiber connections moving more data, faster, and that’s putting real pressure on rack space. Traditional high-density panels have topped out at 144 LC connections per rack unit. PIVOT fits more into a compact 1RU panel without giving up service access.

How It Works
PIVOT’s patent-pending mid-plane connector architecture uses a pivoting front module that places a forward connector row in front of a recessed center row. During maintenance, the front row pivots down to expose the center row, giving technicians clear access to inspect, clean, and mate connections without disturbing adjacent circuits. Each module sits on a sliding service tray, and the panel uses unused cabinet depth in standard 4-post racks to add density without adding footprint.

What used to take four rack units can now be done in three. Across a full 42U rack, that frees up as much as 10U for additional networking, compute, power, or other infrastructure. PIVOT is built for today’s 400G and 800G networks and future-ready for 1.6T and 3.2T, and it’s designed for hyperscale AI clusters, telecom central offices, breakout applications, and high-density aggregation environments.
