Premier data center solutions provider Tonaquint Data Centers has announced the appointment of Terry Morrison as Tonaquint’s new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer. This executive appointment comes on the heels of Tonaquint’s recent acquisition of EdgeX Data Centers, marking Tonaquint’s entry into the Oklahoma City metro.
Industry veteran Morrison joins Tonaquint from EdgeX Data Centers, where he served as co-founder and CTO since January 2021. He brings over two decades of experience driving operational excellence and infrastructure improvements for data center providers.
As COO and CTO, Morrison will spearhead optimizing Tonaquint’s national data center operations infrastructure. Overseeing engineering, construction, security and vendor management teams, he will maximize performance and productivity across the board. Morrison will also guide the provider’s IT strategy and product roadmap, directing the development of managed cloud, colocation and other solutions that allow Tonaquint to continually anticipate and meet emerging client needs.
“We are thrilled to add an executive of Terry Morrison’s caliber to lead these business-critical roles,” said Tonaquint CEO Matt Hamlin. “His depth of technical infrastructure expertise, paired with a distinguished track record of shepherding data center innovations, make him an invaluable asset as we enhance our capabilities to facilitate clients’ digital transformations.”
Before co-founding EdgeX Data Centers, Morrison served as CTO for managed infrastructure provider Green Cloud Technologies and helped launch Perimeter Technology Center in 2002. As VP of Engineering at Perimeter, Morrison led operations until Perimeter’s acquisition by TierPoint in 2011, when he was appointed TierPoint CTO.
“I am excited to join the Tonaquint executive team during this period of strong growth,” Morrison said. “I look forward to collaborating with leadership and teams across the organization as we continue innovating to meet emerging client infrastructure needs for years to come.”
This announcement was made shortly after Tonaquint announced that it had acquired EdgeX Data Centers. This strategic purchase expanded Tonaquint’s data center footprint and cloud connectivity solutions into the Oklahoma City market, adding to the provider’s existing facilities in St. George, Utah and Boise, Idaho.
As a leader powering enterprise digital innovation through secure, resilient IT infrastructure, Tonaquint helps organizations across sectors harness technologies like hybrid cloud and IoT. With Morrison now at the helm of operations and technology strategy, Tonaquint is positioned to build on recent growth and ensure continued delivery of the robust yet agile solutions clients increasingly demand.
