Get to know Your JSAer:
What was your first job?
My father was the Fire Marshal and Arson Investigator for the City of Fairfax, VA, where I grew up. He was kind enough to give me my first summer job as a filing clerk. The funny thing is, Fairfax City Hall is housed in what used to be the city jail, so all the filing cabinets were literally in jail cells. Let’s just say I was ready “to be released” from my incarceration after the summer was over.
What is your happiest memory?
I have many, many happy memories, but a recent one that comes to mind is from our 2018 JSA Strategy meeting in Nashville. Our entire team gathered for 2.5 days of intense brainstorming and planning. One night, as a team building activity, we went to an Escape Room. I didn’t know what to expect, but absolutely loved the adrenaline of racing the clock. When the door opened and we “escaped”, it was such a thrilling moment. We all felt such a sense of accomplishment, because it was tough, really tough. I never would have gotten out if I was with another group of people. #JSAForever
