Get to Know Your JSAer:
- What is your most memorable travel experience?
- I haven’t traveled far and wide (yet!), but up unto this point my most memorable travel experience has been the Sólheimajökull glacier hike and ice climb in Iceland. Aside from the breathtaking landscape, making you feel as though you’re on a different planet, the experience was eye opening, humbling and quite the workout!
- What accomplishment are you most proud of?
- I’m an active person and have been dedicated to a healthy, fitness lifestyle for quite some time, however running has never been my strong suit. Ask me the most miles I had ever ran before August 2017 and my answer was three. However, I made the decision (and goal) to run the Baltimore Half Marathon on October 21, 2017. I quickly purchased running shoes, found a 10-week training program and hit the pavement. Before signing up for the race, I never believed I would be able to run a half marathon, yet when race day came and the nerves finally shook off, I ran a total of 13.1 miles (not all of them blissful). Setting a goal I thought was unattainable, training through 90 degree heat, rain and bad days, running that half marathon has been one of my proudest moments.
