As a JSA Account Coordinator with a deep love of the written word, Dan brings a journalistic eye to our clients’ copy and a researcher’s dedication to accuracy. Dan is responsible for: industry research and analysis; effective social media content; press release copy and editing; timely blogs and landing pages, and agenda and calendar management.
As an established, published writer, Dan’s articles are featured in mainstream magazines such as The Bitter Southerner, Playboy, Salon.com, Flagpole Magazine, PopMatters as well as many others. Prior to joining JSA, Dan’s work as a contributing freelance writer gave him the ability to interview notable cultural icons, such as Billy Bob Thornton, Mike Mills of REM, Lucinda Williams and others. He also worked as a PR Specialist for both the film and music industries. Since 2016, Dan has been representing bands and artists under his own label, managing their promotion, tour coordination, press materials, media placements and even the filming of their music videos. This work included driving a van across the country on many occasions while serving as a tour manager for several bands.
Originally from the Mountain State of West Virginia, Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and Political Science from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and a Master of Arts in Communication and Rhetorical Studies from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. He finished his doctoral coursework in Communication Studies at the University of Georgia. Dan currently resides in Georgia, where he enjoys live music and spontaneous drives across the country — with or without a band in tow.
