Ravi Bhalla, Mayor of the City of Hoboken and Dr. Kevin Ryan, of the Stevens Institute of Technology to Address Smart City Initiatives, and the Challenges and Opportunities Faced in Fostering Young Talent for Next-Gen Network Infrastructure

MIDDLEBROOK, Va.May 6, 2019 — Jaymie Scotto & Associates (JSA), the preeminent provider of Public Relations, Marketing and Event Planning services for the tech and telecom industries, and founder and host of the C-Level networking event series the Telecom Exchange (TEX), announces today City of Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Dr. Kevin Ryan of the Stevens Institute of Technology are the keynote speakers for the company’s upcoming TEX NYC event, taking place May 14-15 at the W Hoboken. The keynote presentation will occur on Wednesday, May 15 at 9:30 AM, following the event’s opening remarks from JSA Founder and CEO, Jaymie Scotto Cutaia.

Ravi S. Bhalla was elected Hoboken’s 39th Mayor on November 7, 2017. Born and raised in New Jersey, Mayor Bhalla is an 18-year resident of Hoboken and an 8-year member of the Hoboken City Council. As TEX NYC’s Keynote Speaker, Mayor Bhalla will address the latest in smart city developments, focusing on the Tri State Area, paying particular attention to the connectivity gateway between New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Kevin Ryan, Teaching Professor and Program Director of the Network and Communications Management Services for Stevens Institute of Technology, will follow Mayor Bhalla to discuss in Q&A format the challenges and opportunities the tech and telecom industries face in raising and incubating young talent for next-generation network infrastructure, a key component for smart city development. Stevens Institute of Technology is an integral partner of the City of Hoboken, extending its expertise in areas of science, technology, business, and engineering to generate far-reaching impact in Hoboken. Through meaningful and sustained partnerships with local technology organizations, businesses, and government, Stevens shares research, knowledge capital, and resources to benefit economic growth, policy and innovation.

Hoboken is one of five communities statewide that was awarded $100,000 innovation grant by the state Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). The city, in partnership with Propelify, Stevens Institute of Technology and the Hoboken Library, is utilizing the funds to create a coworking innovation center.
