Legrand has rolled out its next-generation intelligent rack PDUs featuring a new optional Universal Input, offering greater scalability and flexibility for data center operators.
Compatible with interchangeable input power cords, the Universal Input feature promises to revolutionize the way data centers manage power requirements with the PRO4X and PX4 PDUs, which are available under Legrand’s Server Technology and Raritan brands, respectively.
With the Universal Input Cords (UICs), data center operators can reduce costs and eliminate complexity associated with mixing and matching different PDUs for global installations. Universal Input enables rapid adaptation to evolving power demands, cutting both deployment time and costs. With support for interchangeable input cords and single- or three-phase configurations (Delta or Wye), a single PDU can be reused across multiple projects worldwide, accommodating a variety of power requirements. The Universal Input not only enables PRO4X and PX4 PDUs to meet data center power demands today, but also is designed to address tomorrow’s rack power deployments.
“We are excited to bring this option to our intelligent rack PDUs. Universal Input is a game-changer for data center managers operating globally or working within diverse electrical systems,” said Joe DeLong, VP/General Manager of Legrand’s Data, Power, and Control division. “As power needs evolve, simply swapping the input cord allows the PDU to meet new requirements without replacing the entire unit. This capability is invaluable for data centers dealing with unpredictable or evolving power specifications. Universal Input transforms the PRO4X and PX4 into universal PDUs, providing one PDU that meets all rack power applications.”
