Q: Laura, for those who may not know, can you share a little back story on the history of Datacloud events and what makes them unique?

Datacloud events have been running for over 20 years, and they all began with Datacloud Global Congress (previously Datacloud Europe), which happens each year in Monaco. Over the years, we have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality and engaging events with a focus on providing a place for high-level networking and discussions, and, as such, we are known as a leading data center and digital infrastructure event – a place to open minds and close deals.

Q: What made this year the right time to bring Datacloud to the USA?

We have been expanding our global footprint for a few years now, and as we come out of the pandemic, this year is the perfect time to expand into the US. There are monumental developments that have taken place over the last few months and years; we’ve seen the introduction of the US infrastructure bill, some huge investments such as the CyrusOne acquisition, and the edge truly taking shape. There’s a lot going on, and we’re excited to be able to deliver a Datacloud event exclusively for the North American market.

Q: What drove the team to select Austin as the first Datacloud USA location?

Austin is well known for being a vibrant city that is host to several major tech companies, start-ups, and universities. Thanks to its large engineering and computer science talent pool, Austin is home to several important companies in the data centre space – IBM, Intel, Dell and Cisco among others – and this has led to other companies and employers gravitating to the city. So Austin was an obvious choice to launch our US footprint – and that’s not to mention the fact that it’s a great city to visit for fun too!

Q: How will this event differ from Datacloud events in the past?

Datacloud USA will bring a high-quality networking and knowledge-sharing platform for the data infrastructure community, just like our other events. Being built for the US market, we have the opportunity to focus on issues more specific to North American infra projects, the M&A landscape, and US regulations. We have a fantastic lineup of speakers who we don’t regularly see at other Datacloud events and a whole load of networking opportunities that are new to this event.

Q: Who would benefit most from attending?

Datacloud events are for closing deals and making business decisions – so anyone looking to have an influence on the path of the industry will fit right in. In terms of business areas, delegates represent cloud service providers, real estate, OEM, consultancies, government and legislators, hyperscalers, network operators, and, of course, data center operators,

We always have fantastic feedback on our beautiful locations and seniority of attendees, where they can network with industry leaders and enjoy social dinners and drinks with old and new friends to build relationships and do business.

Q: What can a first-time attendee expect to gain as key takeaways from attending?

You’ll hear from industry experts in the data center industry who advise on best practices and industry updates to improve their business – from sustainability, regulation, power edge and much more. The concentration of many high-level experts in one place will hopefully give first-time attendees a return on their time in a setting that they haven’t experienced before.

Q: Can you share a sneak peek of any exciting new sessions or experiences added to celebrate the inaugural event?

We will have a People and Culture Focus pre-event day where attendees will hear from industry leaders in a relaxed environment about improving the people and culture in your business. Those attending will learn from leaders within the industry who are implementing DEI and recruitment strategies. By providing their insights, attendees can learn how to improve their own work culture. Directly after this, we will have a welcome networking reception with drinks behind a beautiful setting at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa.

We will also be showcasing BroadGroup Talent in Tech, where as a young person, you get the chance to network with your peers and speak directly with leaders in the industry for mentorship and advice and guidance on developing their career trajectory in the data center industry.

Q: Are there any special deals for our JSA community?

The JSA community can enjoy a 15% discount on passes to the event – but these are limited, so get in touch with the JSA team as soon as you can!

Thanks, Laura, for these exciting details and giving our JSA community a first look at the action! We can’t wait to saddle up and hit the road to Austin
